Carolyn has more than 25 years’ experience as a solicitor, advising clients on corporate, commercial, financing, intellectual property, information technology and data protection matters.
She has practised both in Singapore and in London, where she worked for 13 years at several large city firms. Carolyn has advised internationally based clients on a broad range of cross-border transactions, including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions (including asset, acquisition, trade and commodity finance transactions). She has also advised on a broad range of commercial agreements such as franchising, distribution, agency, sponsorship, marketing, outsourcing and confidentiality agreements. In the IP field, she has advised on the protection of brands and other IP, IP audits, collaborative R&D agreements, and on the commercialisation and licensing of IP. In the technology area, she has advised on software licences, development, maintenance and escrow agreements, as well as on e-commerce and data protection issues and issues relating to setting up an online presence.
Carolyn obtained her degree in Law from the University of Cambridge and a postgraduate diploma in European Community Law from King’s College London.
She qualified as a barrister at Middle Temple, and as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore and a solicitor in England and Wales. She is fluent in English and speaks Mandarin as a second language.
