Carolyn is a non-contentious lawyer with 30 years’ experience in corporate, commercial, financing, regulatory, intellectual property, information technology and data protection matters. She is now based in Singapore having worked in London for 13 years at several large city firms.
Carolyn is active in IP and technology. In IP, she regularly advises on the protection of brands and other IP rights, IP audits, collaborative R&D agreements, and commercialisation and licensing of IP. In addition to her work in this area, she also advises on franchising, distribution, agency, sponsorship, marketing, outsourcing and confidentiality agreements.
In technology, she has advised on software licence, development, maintenance and escrow agreements, as well as e-commerce and data protection issues, and issues relating to establishing an online presence.
On the transactional front, Carolyn works on a broad range of cross-border transactions, including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and security aspects of international transactions.
Carolyn is fluent in English and speaks Mandarin as a second language.
In addition to being called as a solicitor in Singapore, England and Wales, Carolyn also qualified as a barrister at the Middle Temple after graduating from the University of Cambridge. She also obtained a postgraduate diploma in European Community Law from King’s College London.
